‘The Other’ to be screened at Orange Shorts Festival

The 2020 Orange Shorts Festival in Argentina has included Iranian-Indian co-production ‘The Other’ to competition playlist.

The 9-minute ‘The Other’ by Ako Zandkarimi and Saman Hosseinpour follows the story of a man who is left with a daughter from his recently deceased wife. It gets all nasty when he suspects that his daughter might belong to some other man who his wife had an affair with.

In November, ‘The Other’ was screened at the 39th Munich International Festival of Film Schools and the 11th Winchester Film Festival (WFF) in the UK.

The flick is the winner of the best director award from the 5th French Lyon Young Film Festival as well as the Grand Prix of the Silk Road section of the 2020 Cannes International Independent Film Festival (CIIFF) in France.

The 14th Grand OFF World Independent Short Film Awards has recently nominated ‘The Other’ for Best Production Design award.

On December 9-13, 2020, ‘The Other’ will also compete at the Brazil’s Alter do Chão film festival.

The Orange Shorts Festival, which is set for November 30-December 12, is an international short film festival that seeks to connect filmmakers from all over the world and choose the most outstanding in each category.
